Atenas is the preferred beach for camping because of its easy access and its lack of sand.  It's located all the way across the bay, facing east.  It's nearly 200 meters long, being followed by cliffs at both sides.
Many sailors have learned shortboard sailing here and almost all national championships have been held on this spot.  When it's windy it's a nice site to do some bump'n jump sailing, and the flat water shore is perfect to carve any kind of jibes.
In the morning, till 11:00, Atenas is the ideal beach to learn to windsurf because of its flat water and steady wind.  The only problem is the rocky bottom, which is solved with a pair of booties. As in the entire bay, the wind raises at 12:00, and has a peak of 20 knots at 3:00.
It's better to sail from the beach to the south, because in case of breakage the wind can bring a sailor out of the bay.
The camping conditions depend on how windy it is, how much camping equipment has been brought and how much you like to camp.  There have been campings that have stood for almost 2 weeks.
Minimum camping equipment:
- Personal belongings and equipment. Do not forget Sunblock lotion.
- Sleeping bag, tent and a good sun-shade with good anchors for the wind.
- Lantern, lamps and batteries.
- Cooler with frozen sodas and/or water and ice blocks.
- Garbage bag.
- Food.
